Mark Ryden has been identified with the "low brow" artistic movement which has been identified as being postmodern.

This is an interesting image. There is so much going on! The bunny in the jack in-a-box brings and the little girl on the piano, immediately envoke feelings of childhood. But on closer inspection, like most of Rydens work, there is something more going on. The all seeing eye in the middle of the girls notebook, seems to peer out at the viewer. In the bottom right corner a sheepish looking baby lwans on a slab of meat. And Abaraham Licoln face adorns the jack-in-the-box........
