A modifed painting by Banksy....

This is a modified version of Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks". In my opinion Banksy is a perfect example of a post modern artist. A street artist obsessed with messing with the world of fine art.

The original painting dealt with the loneliness of living in a big city. One of the notable things about the painting is the fact that there is no visible door leading outside, empahsizing the claustrophobic nature of the situation. In Banksy's version, this claustrophobic quiet is disturbed by what looks like a British football hooligan. This is funny given the British repuation abroad.
